At UConn Health, this position is accountable for assisting the director in managing the essential functions for the Administrative Support Services Department, with significant responsibility in the areas of day-to-day administrative operations, the oversite of contracted services, and the development of budgetary and fiscal practices.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Receives administrative direction from an employee of higher grade.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Directs the department staff and other staff as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Develops department staff by providing resources and tools in an environment that promotes exceptional customer service while continuously seeking process improvements and efficiencies.
Oversite of day-to-day administrative practices including parking permit registration, room scheduling, coordination of special event services, background check processing, ID badging, and access control.
Oversite of financial tasks including invoicing, purchasing, transfer vouchers, reimbursements, cash handling, journal entry uploads, and deposits.
Assists the Director in the oversite of contracted services.
Assists the Director in the development and oversite of the department budget.
Performs related duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Ability to develop a positive and efficient work environment by providing the resources, systems and leadership that promotes excellent customer service while supporting the UConn Health mission. Considerable knowledge of office administration and management; knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; considerable ability to understand and apply relevant State and Federal laws, statutes and regulations; knowledge of the principles and procedures of accounting, budgeting and purchasing; ability to analyze budgetary and related problems.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
General Experience:
Seven (7) years relevant experience in a multi-facetted institutional support services environment.
At least three (5) years of the general experience must have been in a related environment.
Five (5) years of the general experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
 Substitutions Allowed:
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
A masterâs degree in public administration, business administration or accounting may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the general or specialized experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough knowledge and experience with the methods, practices, procedures, and equipment pertinent to parking and transportation services at a vibrant academic health campus.
Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships and a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday â Friday, generally between the hours of 7:45 am â 4:15 pm. Flexibility needed including willingness to work irregular hours based on business needs.
