Job Title:  Admission Coordinator - Weekends

Overview:

As an Admission Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the admission process for patients entering the facility. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating patient admissions, ensuring accurate documentation, liaising with hospital staff, families, and patients, and providing administrative support to the admission process. This role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities to ensure a smooth and efficient admission process for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive incoming inquiries from hospital staff, patients, and families regarding admission procedures.
• Conduct tours of the facility to families.
• Notify hospitals of bed availability on a regular basis.
• Collect relevant patient information such as medical history, insurance details, and personal information.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for admission and care.
• Schedule admissions and ensure all necessary preparations are completed prior to patient arrival.
• Prepare admission reports for other departments such as nursing and admission.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as nursing, to ensure smooth transition from hospital to facility.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and their families throughout the admission process.
• Establish and maintain contacts and relationships with key referral sources.
• Engage in outside marketing and promoting the facility by fostering strong relationships within the healthcare industry such as hospital staff and physicians.

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.

Proficiency in computer applications.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
