Admissions Coordinator
We are a Skilled Nursing Facility seeking an Admissions Coordinator to help build census and attract new referral sources within the Northshore and Southshore area of New Orleans. Applicants must have great communication and interpersonal skills to be considered for this position. The chosen applicant must be outgoing and take initiative to speak to all persons that enter the building or that are contacted with over the phone.
Some expected duties and responsibilities of an Admissions Coordinator are the following: provide walk in and scheduled tours, communicate with case workers or discharge planners through admission process, attend daily manager meetings, follow up on community leads for placement, conduct some marketing when time allows, input Resident/Patient demographics and information into EMR profile for prospective admits, track and follow potential readmits in the hospital and inform the team on relevant updates, assist in completion of admission consent work by family RP or prospective admit, work in collaboration with Business Office Manager to verify benefits and obtain necessary authorizations for care, upload hospital paperwork and consents into the EMR, prescreen referrals for clinical team to review and then obtain necessary clarifications and discharge orders to facilitate admission process among other tasks assigned by the Administrator. Applicants with a background of an LPN/RN are preferred but not required for consideration of the role, however he/she must have a high school diploma and be able to read and write well to be successful in this role.
