Admissions Coordinator - Nursing Home jobs in Paramus, NJ

Friedwald Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is actively seeking an Admissions Coordinator to join our team of dynamic professionals!

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate admissions from hospital and community setting into the facility
• Review referral packets from hospital with nursing department to determine if clinical needs can be met
• Facilitate ongoing communication with referral sources including but not limited to hospitals, assisted living facilities, community agencies and family members
• Provide information and tours of the facility - either in person or virtual - in order to best assist family members through the admission process
• Prepare both physical chart for nursing unit and complete electronic medical record
• Review case and obtain authorization from managed care companies
• Complete financial screenings to ensure insurance coverage for the facility
• Remain available to patients and family members during the course of their stay to ensure satisfaction

Requirements:

• Associates Degree preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a successful Admissions Coordinator in a short term rehabilitation/long term care facility preferred
• Healthcare, sales, marketing experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, typing, medical terminology knowledge and data entry required
• Excellent interpersonal skills; possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
