GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION
Under general supervision of the Health Services Administrator, the Admissions Counselor directs the admissions program of the Health Center and is responsible for generating business from referrals sources to meet the community’s revenue and census goals. This is a combined role managing internal admission flow and external marketing. As a representative and team member of the company, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.
Internal Admission Flow includes: Reviews inquiries for admissions; liaisons with case managers and discharge planners; marketing visits to acute care hospitals; finding and following up on leads; providing information about the HC and gives tours to prospective clients; determines payer status, obtain prior authorization. Maintains an established Health Center census by developing relationships with referral sources and ensuring adequate referrals are maintained.
External Marketing; developing relationships with community hospitals, physician offices, community health clinics and other community outreach programs. This position contributes to the success of Human Good by coordinating external professional relationships for the community as a whole with an emphasis in skilled nursing components of senior living in an effort to achieve the highest possible occupancy within budgetary and regulatory guidelines.
