Representative, Admissions
Job Description Summary
The Admissions Representative will maintain relationships with community organizations and attend events throughout northwest Ohio aimed at recruiting prospective students. Recruits and manages a caseload of adult and non-traditional students. Meets with prospective students to walk through the admissions steps. Keeps current on the Owens programs and majors. Helps with events in the Admissions office.
Knowledge
General Knowledge of College programs and services. Familiarity with Wood County. Knowledge of the general college admission process and demonstrated ability to articulate what steps a high school student or an adult learner would take; and how prospective student segment would fit into the college admission timeline. Knowledge of ACT/SAT and Accuplacer placement assessments and how that relates to prospective students’ next steps. General knowledge of the financial aid process and of available scholarships. Knowledge regarding community college student populations and enrollment steps. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Banner, Blackboard, Onbase, and the Owens website.

Ability to assess student needs and prescribe next steps accordingly. Ability to work both independently and as a team. Other Characteristics
Direct community college learning experience strongly preferred. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems. Demonstrated commitment to work with a diverse population of students that come from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
