Shipping Clerk - Qualified applicant must have a minimum of 1 year experience in shipping/material handling, forklift knowledge and have experience with shipping software/computer experience.

The shipping clerk is responsible for processing outgoing shipments from shipping department. These may consist of parcels, crates, packages or pallets. Check product against shipping or customer orders, report shortages and follow up to locate items or incomplete orders. Operates forklift on a routine basis.

Job Description

• Complete bills of ladings and/or shipping labels using computer shipping software, following proper department procedure
• Specify method of crating, boxing, or skidding of large, heavy, or bulky products.
• Route shipments involving a wide variety of classifications requiring a thorough knowledge of freight carriers
• Arrange for carrier pick up
• Prepare orders for shipping—weights, wraps, and prepares crates to reduce transit damage
• Confirm shipments in software system
• Operate power lift truck to move material in a safe, efficient manner
• Proactively look for ways to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of orders shipped

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Assist in annual physical inventory
• May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for an eight hour time period
• Ability to lift from the floor to mid-height level, up to 60 lbs
• Ability to work in a non climate controlled environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
