Admitting Director directs patient admissions and access operations, staffing, policies, and practices. Develops and maintains standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Director analyzes operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Establishes policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. Additionally, Admitting Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Admitting Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Admitting Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsible for all patient registration for in-patient or out-patient services; responsible for daily operation of a multi-line phone system, answering and transferring all calls to Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) and Northern Montana Care Center (NMCC) whenever switchboard area on third floor is not covered by PBX operator; provides a "visitor friendly" atmosphere in the admissions area, assisting all patients, visitors and co-workers who have questions or concerns; other office duties as needed.

    Requirements: High school diploma, GED or equivalent; keyboarding minimum of 35 wpm; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; good organizational skills; ability to comprehend, retain and apply given information; experience in office procedures helpful but not necessary.

    Shifts may vary depending on the needs of the facility.

    Salary commensurate with up to 10 years experience.
