Fremont Surgery Center has been providing high quality care to patients in the Bay Area since 1996. Our facility is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) and certified by Medicare. We are one of the largest and busiest ambulatory surgery centers in Northern California. At this time, we are looking to expand our administrative team with the addition of an Admitting Receptionist.

General job duties include:

• Serves as a telephone operator for the facility; routes incoming calls correctly
• Greets patients and provides assistance with patient registration
• Verifies patient’s identification documents and current insurance
• Receives payments by cash, check, or credit card and issues appropriate duplicate receipts
• Keeps track of patient’s family, patient’s driver etc. and notifies same of delays Maintains neat a clean appearance of waiting room
• Assigns medical record number and enters all demographic and insurance information into system of record
• Adheres to medico-legal requirements when answering correspondence and inquiries
• Maintains and controls the release of information to authorized persons only
• Prepares records or correspondences according to facility needs
• Other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications for this position are as follows:

• High School Diploma Proficiency in Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel, etc.)
• One (1) year experience in a medical office setting
• Positive attitude and exceptional attention to detail
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality practices in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years in a medical office setting
• ASC experience
