Position Purpose
Registers patients and processes related paperwork. Duties include interviewing patients, preparing standard registration forms, and performing other admission or transfer related tasks. Expected to perform clerical and secretarial work. Required to meet payment collection goals on patient hospital co-payments, deductibles and co-insurance. Performs a variety of tasks as assigned by department leadership. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 1-2 years of work experience in a related field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Customer service experience is highly desirable for this position. Bilingual candidates welcome.
This is a 24/7 department. ER Registration shifts are typically 12 hours. Attention to detail is a must as candidates will need to multitask in a face-paced environment. Shifts typically include one weekend day and 2 1/2 weekday shifts. As a full time associate the required weekly worked hours are between 32 and 40 hours. Overtime is available as needed. Flexibility with shifts and days worked are a plus.
