Admitting Supervisor supervises the day-to-day patient admissions and access operations and staff responsible for required registration, and patient intake processes. Follows standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Supervisor monitors operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Prepares staff work schedules to ensure coverage and coordinate training and staff resources. Additionally, Admitting Supervisor follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Admitting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Admitting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. * Create a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while performing the tasks of registering, routing or escorting patients, family, or visitors. Register patients to receive medical services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Obtain demographic information, validate insurance, and collect payments. Answer and/or refer questions received from patients, visitors, and staff. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Credentials / Education:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
* 2 years of Related Healthcare Experience Preferred.
