Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. The Adult Day Care Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Adult Day Care Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • We are looking for a skilled Cook/Kitchen Manager to prepare delicious meals according to our menu. You will cook dishes that align with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and distribute them using appropriate serving sizes for varying ages. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions when cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft when moving around the kitchen and apt for multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is essential. The goal is to provide home-cooked, nutritious meals to the children and staff in our care in accordance with the regulations set forth for our center. The pay scale begins at $14.00/hour for the Cook/Kitchen Manager position. Pay is subjective to the applicant's years of experience and credentials.


    Cook/Kitchen Manager Responsibilities

    • Comply with all Center regulations and guidelines
    • Comply with all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations
    • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
    • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
    • Cook food with the provided equipment
    • Prepare all meals and snacks following issued menus and directives
    • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
    • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
    • Check the quality of ingredients
    • Monitor stock and complete accurate food order request
    • Report to the Administration any maintenance or non-food supply needs in the kitchen
    • Properly store food and non-food supplies upon delivery
    • Keep all food items stored properly and at the appropriate temperature
    • Date all food items
    • Clean kitchen workspace regularly
    • Maintain organized refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage for food and supplies
    • Wash all dishes used for preparation and cooking as well as eating utensils after each meal - disposable plates, bowls, and cups are used for serving food to children
    • Keep kitchen, appliances, etc. clean, sanitized, and in good working condition
    • Other duties as assigned


    Cook/Kitchen Manager Skills and Qualifications

    • Experience as a professional or home cook
    • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
    • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
    • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Very good communication skills
    • Good physical condition and stamina
    • High school diploma or equivalent


    Physical and Mental Demands


    • Ability to lift 40 pounds
    • Ability to reach overhead
    • Good personal hygiene (clean clothes, hair, hands, nails, etc.)
    • Ability to bend down
    • Finger dexterity
    • Ability to read and understand all documents
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
    • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
