JOB REQUIREMENTS Milton Day CNA:

• Possesses the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, lifting objects up to 10 lbs, assist with 50/100 pounds, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching overhead, push or pull, simultaneous use of both hands, wrists, and fingers.
• Possess the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time; speak in conversational tones utilizing English/American Language.
• Communicate with participants suffering from various disabilities (difficulty hearing/seeing, confusion, physical weaknesses, seizure disorder, Parkinson’s, etc.).
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Knowledgeable of the Milton Adult Day Services philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Arrives to work and meetings on time and ready to work.
• Respects confidentiality of clients/families and other employees.
• Sees change as an opportunity and maintains a level of flexibility, which allows for adaptation to new ways of performing.
• Engages participants through the use of humor, enthusiasm, and positive reinforcement.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Clearly communicates information regarding changes in participant condition to RN.
• Demonstrates good judgment in knowing what information needs to be communicated.
• Handles communication in a timely manner.
• Maintains documentation of client participation in activities.
• Records information accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
• Provide care and services to participants according to the care plan or as approved by an RN.
• Assists with other activities of daily living as directed by an RN.
• Offers support and encouragement to participants and families.
• Assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic activities under the direction of the Activity Coordinator and/or other Day Center staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Health care experience in geriatrics
