Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. The Adult Day Care Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Position: Adult Srvs. Coordinator
Reports to: Supervisor of DD Srvs.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience with Individual Options (IO) waiver certification requirements, Day Habilitation Srvs., Homemaker Personal Care and other services provided to served by an IO Waiver.
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of DD rules, requirements, and regulations.
3. Possess outstanding written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
4. Proficiency in data input into the computer system (Brittco)including electronic health record and email.
5. Obtain and maintain certification in CPR, 1st Aid, AED, PCI, and have a valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Parker Residential & Care Services (PRCS).
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Directly supervise Direct Support Professional (DSP) in multiple settings.
2. Ensure compliance with standards in all programs. Ensure all staff working with each individual is fully trained on the ISP prior to first contact.
3. Help to coordinate and schedule staff to ensure appropriate staffing patterns.
4. Review all required documentation by staff for accuracy and timeliness.
5. Maintain and implement activity calendars as well as AdultDay/Vocation Habilitation event calendar.
6. Advocate for individuals served to ensure a person-centered Trauma Informed approach.
7. Coordinate services for youth and adults receiving DD services.
8. Foster within PRCS a greater understanding of persons developmental disabilities, waiver funding, and state regulations.
9. Maintain budgets for individuals, homes, and day services.
10. Schedule doctor and family visits, and monitor medications. Review MARS for accuracy and review counts of meds as needed.
11. Maintain required trainings for self and for DSPs to include agency requirements, annual DODD requirements and ISP/Person-Centered requirements.
12. Complete evaluations on supervised staff as needed, at least annually. Handle staff concerns along with Supervisor of DD Services as needed. Handle staff discipline needs.
13. Work as directed by the Supervisor of DD Srvs.
Physical Demands:
The position will typically work in an environment with occasional work outside and in small enclosed spaces. Frequent sitting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling and crouching.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are inclusive of an environment with low to moderate noise levels to outside activities that are loud and active terrains and around water, as well as in home or school environment. Some work conditions can be loud, disruptive, volatile, and dangerous at times.
