Adult Education Teacher is responsible for teaching courses to adults in a classroom setting. Develops and implements appropriate course work, activities, and assessments for an adult class. Being an Adult Education Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance, and helps students identify and pursue personal goals. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Adult Education Teacher typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Adult Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Schedules for adult education teachers vary from mornings (e.g. 9:00 am - 1:00 pm daily) to evenings (e.g. 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Monday and Wednesday). Schedules vary on courses offered and student needs.
Adult education teachers in SSFUSD are eligible for tenure after working for two years (a minimum of 18 hours/week each year) as a probationary teacher.
