  • STARTING DATE: Spring, 2024 REPORTS TO:Supervisor of Workforce Development WORK YEAR 2023-2034 SALARY RANGE: $31 per hour with opportunity to advance GENERAL DESCRIPTION Coordinates the Firefighting Program and directs educational programming activities which include overseeing the development of curriculum by performing the following duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Possess or qualify for a valid Ohio adult educator’s license or permit. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. •Must possess or qualify for an Ohio Certification as a Firefighter Level ll, Paramedic, Fire Instructor, and EMS Instructor. •Educational administration, curriculum/instruction and school finance skills substantiated by training and relevant work experience. •Ability to influence the district’s economic and cultural environment. •Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. •Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. •Excellent oral and written communications skills with students / employers / educators. •Ability to develop cooperative relationships with area employers and establish an advisory committee made up of representatives from the communities we serve. •Volunteerism and competition skills are appreciated. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Ensures program compliance with all required criteria to maintain accreditations/charters. •Develops a plan for the public safety services. •Organizes public safety services instruction and assists teachers in planning schedules. •Prepares and administers budget for the program. •Prepares local and state reports as needed. •Coordinates public safety services activities. •Works with instructors regarding certification, evaluations, and administrative details. •Secures instructors for classes, field trips and special programs and seminars. •Recommends public safety services textbooks. •Monitors program tests and testing policies. •Recommends purchase of equipment and repairs and maintains an inventory system. •Oversees program advisory committee. •Provides continuous improvement for programs and services including performance measures. •Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district. •Ability to monitor and retain students enrolled in the part-time Fire Fighting course of study. •Work to prepare students for employment opportunities within the firefighting technologies career field. •Ability to work evenings during the academic year from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Saturdays if desired. •Upholds board policies and implements administrative guidelines/procedures. •Upholds applicable local, state and federal laws. •Maintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. •Work collaboratively and effectively with educators, students and form positive relationships with business and industry representatives. •Work under the guidelines of Penta’s Mission Statement and goals. •Attends district and state professional development events, as needed. •Remain free of any non-prescribed controlled substance or alcohol abuse in the workplace throughout employment. •Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, Supervisor, or their designee(s).
