Advertising Sales Director directs and develops the strategy, plans, and tactics required to create advertising concepts and campaigns that deliver results and meet organizational objectives. Oversees the budget, expenditures, and resource allocation for all advertising campaigns. Being an Advertising Sales Director identifies media channels and directs the placement of all advertisements and the development of promotional materials. Ensures consistent and effective branding and messaging in all forms of advertisements. Additionally, Advertising Sales Director uses metrics and data analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and assess return on investment. Fosters innovation of new advertising methods and initiatives using advertising industry experience and competitive intelligence. Requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Advertising Sales Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Advertising Sales Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • The Director of Event Sales at TWA Hotel will report to TWA Hotel’s Director of Hotel Sales and will be responsible for leading Event Events and for the generation of budgeted top line Event revenue for the hotel through revenue maximization and profit. The ideal candidate is a goal oriented individual with extensive Event sales knowledge. The Event Sales Director will work closely with clientele and banquet staff to produce exceptional events that drive referrals and positive public opinion. He or she must be a highly communicative, meticulously organized team player who possesses a positive, problem-solving attitude and a passion for innovation. Primary Responsibilities:   Work closely with sales teams and General Manager to assist in capturing Event business in all segments including corporate transient business Assist in the training and support of Event Sales Manager and ensure performance in accordance with established standards Have general knowledge of banquet food service standards and techniques Ensure knowledge of and adherence to standards by the banquet team to achieve optimal sales service and client retention Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to forecast revenue opportunities and create proactive strategies Establish individual sales plans and goals for corporate and social Event events Monitor and analyze product of top accounts and evaluate trends in market. Independently solicit and book business Negotiate food and beverage pricing, meeting room rental, and other services Assist client in menu planning; coordinate food, beverage, room set up, and other services as requested by client Detail banquet order details, process client invoices (where applicable) Compile sales reports as required in a timely and accurate manner Maintain accurate and up to date records of all activity/transactions Lead, train and mentor Event Sales Manager including hiring, coaching development, performing evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations. Develop marketing plans and evaluate trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively. Assist in the production of annual hotel business plan. Drive all Event revenues. Ensure the quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved for the hotel. Maintain a close working relationship with the Director of Food and Beverage, Chef and Banquet Manager. Direct the Event sales effort to ensure revenue maximization with a working knowledge of food and beverage compositions and an understanding of kitchen and banquet service procedures. Ensure that hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines are followed. Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies. Ensure quality standards are met in areas of customer service and satisfaction. Use leadership skills in Banquet Event Order Meetings, Pre- and Post-Conference Meetings, Sales Meetings, etc. Other duties as assigned.   Qualifications:   University or college degree equivalent. Bachelor's degree in in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related major or professional area 4 years successful experience in proactive sales & Event Ability to effectively close business Previous Director of Event experience is a must Strong Leader of people Strong presentation skills Excellent writing skills (grammar/punctuation/spelling) Experience in multi-cultural social events Intermediate to advanced computer skills Familiar with common computer software programs (Microsoft Office) Strong organizational skills Excellent time management skills Computer skills and knowledge of industry focused systems such as OPERA, Sales Force & Delphi including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Opera Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of property operations, Food and Beverage (F&B.). Knowledge of the group sales process  and how to close a sale. Team-based selling experience. Ability to handle customer inquiries and leads requests for groups (e.g., Full Service and Selected Service/Extended Stay, 10-99 peak room nights) Demonstrates excellent selling skills, strong communication skills, and a detailed understanding of property operations, food and beverage, and planning. Understands the overall market (e.g., competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand) and how to sell against them. An aptitude for self-motivation A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach to hotel sales management  Strong computer skills A flexible schedule that allows you to be available days, nights, holidays and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
