Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed. Eaton's Mission Systems division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This position is located in the growing Quad Cities, specifically in Davenport, IA.     The expected annual salary range for this role is $62250.03 - $91300.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    What you'll do:

    The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for leading cost-out events and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
    Leads cost-out events and promotes a culture of continuous improvement
    Applies Lean-Manufacturing and 6-Sigma Techniques to eliminate waste, reduce process variation and to deliver products that meet customer expectations
    Participates in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products
    Conducts Design for Manufacturing and value engineering initiatives as applicable
    Develops work breakdown structures as a tool to develop cost estimates and to identify opportunities for cost reduction
    Participates in new product development projects using program management tools to articulate deliverables and maintain schedules
    Develops and integrates new processes and methodologies as to provide competitive advantages for the business
    Composes Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications - External
    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
    3 years of Engineering experience
    1 year of experience with Lean/6-Sigma/Continuous Improvement best practices
    Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
    This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ""), Political Asylee or Refugee.
    No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 70 mile radius of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Six Sigma Black Belt certification
    Electrical Engineering experience preferred
    3 years of Lean Manufacturing experience
    Product life cycle management experience
    AS9100/TS16949 experience
    Precision machining experience preferred
