Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     POSITION SUMMARY

     

    The Manufacturing Engineer will help to create an efficient work environment by maintaining production equipment, evaluating tooling and production work flow. In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer will create and maintain build instructions and any relevant documentation.

     

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Author documentation such as build procedures and data collection spreadsheets
    • Validating and documenting test procedures
    • Creating and updating build procedures to current standards
    • Draft and manage preventative maintenance of production equipment
    • Maintain calibration activities of production equipment
    • Participate in line setup and cycle time reduction activities
    • Program PnP machine, CNC milling, CNC router, laser engraver and 3D printer
    • Design test and assembly fixturing
    • Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes
    • Train production staff as required
    • Work in compliance with OSHA and MSDS safety policies.
    • Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD)
    • Perform new equipment evaluation
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • BS degree in Engineering, Technology or equivalent practical experience
    • Must have experience with CAD software
    • Must have experience working in team environment
    • Must understand failure mode effects and root cause analysis
    • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and technical sense
    • Have a working knowledge of basic electronic test equipment
    • Have direct experience with manufacturing processes related to electronic assemblies and testing
    • Can comprehend electronic and wiring schematics
    • Can read mechanical drawings
    • Have experience with 3D mechanical modeling
    • Have the ability to program and operate production machinery (PnP machine, CNC milling, CNC router, laser engraver and 3D printer)
    • Pays attention to details and desires to exceed expectations
    • Is organized, punctual, and has a pleasant demeanor
    • Possesses a desire for continuous improvement
    • Have the ability to work within tight production schedules
    • Have the ability to read and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination
