Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed. Actalent is searching for Electrical Engineers in Lancaster County. Candidates will be responsible for leading engineering development, prototyping, design verification, and transition to production on complex analog, digital, and radio frequency (RF) products.
Responsibilities:
• Work cross-functionally across the organization (program management, procurement, operations, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, test, production, business development, contracts)
• Create innovative ideas in support of internal research and development.
• Generate and implement improvements in product design and test throughput.
• Interface directly with customers and suppliers to support technical issues.
• Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to engineering and test staff
• Research and apply electrical engineering principles and theories to solve customer problems
• Support full program life cycles (concept, specification, prototype, production, sustainment)
• Lead teams of design engineers using established design and development process models (CMMI, Six Sigma for Design, or equivalent)
• Create, review, approve Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variances (RFVs)
• Support and lead systems engineering, software engineering, and mechanical engineering efforts
