Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Job Title: Test Engineer

    This position is responsible for assisting in the development of new production test equipment in support of new design projects and new products with facilitate the company’s profitable growth.  Support the maintenance and improvement of existing test systems to ensure uninterrupted production to support the on-time delivery and quality of customer orders.  Individual contributor who also works collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     In this role the incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

    • Collaborate with design engineering on development and maintenance of Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, Acceptance Test Procedures, and ESS Procedures. 
    • Assists Production to resolve testing or ESS problems that may arise (requesting revisions to ATPs, troubleshooting test equipment problems, and resolving new product start-up issues). 
    • Assist production and maintenance with troubleshooting and repair of production test equipment.
    • Coordinate with quality on the calibration of equipment used in test stands or testing systems.
    • Analyzes and evaluates production requirements for new or modified test equipment methods, processes, and procedures to improve productivity.
    • Participates in design of electronic or mechanical prototypes of test equipment, orders parts and equipment as required, and completes documentation regarding applications, repair, etc.
    • Assist quality when requested with validation of customer complaints on product returned under RMA/warranty.
    • Assist quality if needed with the verification / validation of production test report results.
    • Coordinates the scheduling and testing of product at external testing labs, including transport of test equipment, monitoring tests, and reviewing test reports.
    • Interfaces with and provides technical support to production personnel for release of new test programs and procedures (hardware and software).
    • Responsible for maintaining any software, firmware used in Acme’s battery and battery charger test/systems, through own efforts, or coordination with third party resources.

     

    Requirements:

    The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills, and education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 4 to 7 years’ experience in Test environment.
    • Troubleshooting, verbal and written communication, time management skills.
    • Experience with LabVIEW and Keysight VEE programming preferred.
    • Fast learner, ability to set and change priorities.
    • Strong computer and data analysis skills
    • Experience coordinating with third party vendors on the design and fabrication of custom test systems.
    • Familiarity with testing electronic assemblies.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is occasionally high.
