Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Credence Management Solutions, LLC, is hiring an Aerospace Engineer who will be primarily responsible for supporting AFLCMC/LP at Tinker AFB, OK.  

    Responsibilities

    • Support aircraft propulsion performance and operability by performing duties that ensure propulsion systems deliver required thrust or shaft power for a given fuel flow, weight, and engine architecture.
    • Assist in ensuring propulsion systems deliver consistent and reliable starting, smooth and responsive accelerations and decelerations, stable thrust at a given power setting, and freedom from stalls, flameouts, and combustion instabilities.
    • Apply knowledge of NPSS and Formula Translation (FORTRAN) performance model organization and execution with the ability to execute thermal cycle analysis of gas turbine engines.
    • Perform duties that ensure all propulsion system structural requirements including strength, durability and damage tolerance safely meet all requirements.
    • Assist in ensuring all physical interfaces and installation between the propulsion systems and air vehicle system safely meet all structural requirements.
    • Use computational tools, build models, and understand results.
    • Evaluate and implement USAF airworthiness standards.
    • Perform engineering activities which ensure propulsion control systems and subsystems enable the propulsion system to safely meet all requirements.
    • Assist in ensuring all functional and physical interfaces and installations between the propulsion systems and air vehicle system safely meet all requirements.
    • Perform engineering activities which ensure propulsion system design and integration into the aircraft system meets all low observable signature requirements throughout the system life cycle.
    • Serve as technical specialist for propulsion systems low observable signature reduction which includes radar cross section, infrared signature, and visual signature.

    Qualifications

    • Clearance: Secret or ability to obtain a Secret
    • Master’s Degree and ten (10) years relevant work experience OR BA/BS and twelve (12) years relevant work experience
