Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Collins Aerospace is seeking at Product Quality Engineer to help support their Mission Systems business unit in Vergennes, VT!

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Ensures manufacturing processes and product builds are followed and comply with Quality and Engineering requirements
    • Drives problem solving projects and actively challenges the status quo (e.g., root cause and corrective action investigations, (FPY, customer escapes)
    • Provides analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes
    • Leads and drives alignment with fellow quality and manufacturing engineers, sustaining engineers, engineering management, operations, and shop floor personnel
    • Participates/implements continuous improvement for established processes for further improvement of quality, efficiency, and cost
    • Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts
    • Responsible for managing time and being organized with daily tasks
    • Work with team members, customers, suppliers and in a team environment
    • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions, both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations and conduct self-inspection / audit


    Qualifications/Experience Needed:
    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
    • Ability to read and interpret material and process specifications, technical drawings, 3D models, technical reports, manuals, and work instructions.
    • Experience working in a central quality or manufacturing organizations.
    • Current experience with RRCA's (Relentless Root Cause Analysis)

    The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
