Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes. The engineer will work within an Engineering team, collaborating with Quality and Operations. This team's responsibility is to ensure a safe manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality, and schedule requirements.

    May be eligible for relocation.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develops and Documents manufacturing processes that are aligned with statistical process controls .

    • Validate manufacturing BOM and Routings for various seat part manufacturing.

    • Analyze engineering drawings and Uni-Graphics Models for production.

    • Assist with tool design and tool procurement for operations.

    • Review engineering changes as required for manufacturing.

    • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production standards.

    • Supports continuous improvement within the department.

    • Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

    • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

    • Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

    • Plans the sequence of operations for fabrication tools to ensure excellent product performance.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

    • Experience with the design, layout, and troubleshooting of machinery

    • CNC Programming experience is preferred.

    • Prior working experience with plastic thermoforming (injection, pressure, vacuum) preferred.

    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies preferred.

    • Prior working experience with GD&T preferred.

    The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
