What You Will DoPerform an advanced level of inspection work on company pipelines, oversees contractors engaged in the construction and maintenance of a pipeline system.
Inspects installation, maintenance, and removal work performed by employees and contractors on transmission and distribution pipelines to ensure compliance and identify noncompliance with company and governmental standards.
Assist with operation and maintenance of tools and equipment in performance of duties including : Pipe and crescent wrenchesPipe cutters and threadersHammers and screwdriversPicks, shovels, and rakesAir compressors and generatorsPlastic fusion equipmentCombustible Gas Indicators - flame-ionization unitJiggle barLeak survey equipmentTapping and pluggingPerform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain logs; compile and prepare reports including : Inspection logsLeak reportsJob order completion informationTraining / testing recordsMileage reportsAccident / first aid reportsExpense ReportsProvide information, advice, and assistance to employees, contractors, landowners, public / governmental officials, and others relative to construction and maintenance standards, policies and procedures applicable to work in progress.
Investigate customer related orders and emergency situations including : Low pressure callsClass 1 leaksBlowing linesFires / explosionsUndetectable linesReview invoices for accuracy (pricing, quantity installed, materials used, etc.

Experience with application of basic arithmetic : addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Experience with and knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and industry standards and regulations regarding pipeline construction and safety.
Experience and training relative to : Company Gas Operations Standards Manual (GOSM) proceduresEmergency response proceduresWelding / plastic fusion policies and proceduresOne Call System policies and proceduresInterpersonal / communication skillsKnowledge of function and maintenance of regulators, chart meters, well meters, cathodic protection, and leakage survey and remote methane leak device.
Experience leading, directing, and training.Read and write fluently in English.Applicable driver's licenseQualified Plastic Fusion Technician certification (as specified by position)Qualified Steel Welding certification (as specified by position)CDL preferred.
