    Title : Security / Trailer Inspector

    Location : Onsite- Laredo, TX

    Schedule : Varies-Rotating Schedule

    What work will you perform?

    Responsible for maintaining an overall safe and secure work environment at the facility. This will be done by inspecting, maintaining, documenting, and communicating all defects and security breaches regarding Landstar owned equipment or facilities.

    Conducting ongoing Security and Safety education to our facility employees, agents, owner-operators, vendors, and carriers will be key to long term success.

    Essential Responsibilities :

    • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date trailer information in Landstar's TIMS system.
    • Communicate trailer arrival information with appropriate facility personnel.
    • Inspect trailers for DOT compliance, signs of wear and mechanical defects.
    • Locate and inspect trailing units for satellite tracking devices and defects.
    • Document and communicate defects regarding equipment to Landstar's approved maintenance vendor.
    • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date equipment yard inventory.
    • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date inspection reports.
    • Complete a Safety / Security Walk Through as prescribed, document and report defects to management.
    • Maintain a functional camera operation system.
    • Maintain the safety / security of the fence and building perimeter.
    • Working outdoors in sometimes harsh environments.

    Required Minimum Experience and Education :

    High-school Diploma or Equivalent

    Preferred Experience and Education :

    • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
    • 6 months Transportation Experience
    • 6 months Trailor Inspection Experience
    • Proficient in Excel and Internet
    • Problem solving / analytical skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Must be a self-starter, able to prioritize and work with little supervision.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions and instructions.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Basic mechanical ability
    • Ability to work in damp atmosphere.
    • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. overhead.
    • Ability to repeatedly enter / exit Landstar equipment.
    • Regular and timely attendance is also an essential job function.
