Fruit Growers Laboratory, Inc. (FGL) is searching for a Field Representative / Lab Tech for our San Luis Obispo area and location. Fruit Growers Laboratory, Inc. is now searching for a Field Representative/Lab Tech for our San Luis Obispo, CA Laboratory location. Duties include sampling/picking up environmental samples of drinking water, waste water and surface water plus sampling/picking up agricultural samples of soil, plant tissue and irrigation waters. Also analyzing water samples for the presence of bacteria, shipping samples to corporate laboratory, and other general office work. The position will start with side-by-side route training in our company vehicle to learn the daily responsibilities and experience customer service and experience with our customers. Potential flexibility to schedule depending on our customers’ needs, environmental factors, and the changing market. Our customers range from private Citizens to government agencies. The ability to engage with our customers and providing a positive and professional service experience is important, as well as accurately filling out forms and collecting necessary data. You will be interacting with our customers and getting signatures for the samples as required. Lab experience is helpful but not required. The majority of the responsibilities are in the field collecting samples from our customers. The position will eventually also may include cross-training to assist in the lab for testing samples. The ideal applicant will be eager to learn, possess great attention to detail while thinking critically, have the ability to multi-task and can work independently in a team setting. This is a full-time position with benefits. This is a full time position with benefits which include health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) program. The salary is $25.00 per hour depending on experience. Potentially varying hours and schedule with some flexibility. Musthave a clean driving record.
