Aides Supervisor - Home Care supervises a staff of Home Care Aides who provide and support patients with personal care. Schedules home health aides for patient visitation and work assignments. Being a Aides Supervisor - Home Care monitors the quality of care performed by the home health aide staff. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Aides Supervisor - Home Care typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Aides Supervisor - Home Care supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Duties:
- Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with medical documentation and record keeping.
- Provide catheter care and assist with other medical procedures as needed.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with hospice care for terminally ill clients.
- Provide specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with catheter care, hospice care, dementia care, and senior care is beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
