Job Description:Structure Design Manager (Multiple Positions), Ferrovial Construction JFK T1, LLC, Jamaica, NY. Coordinate engineering design activities. Review engineering information pertaining to bridges, retaining walls, buildings, and other structures to ensure the design meets the technical requirements of a large civil infrastructure project. Perform due diligence to identify noncompliance. Perform engineering design tasks for projects. Act as the engineer of record for designs under direct supervision. Ensure designs can be integrated into construction plans. Estimate quantities of materials. Develop specifications to determine project feasibility and implement design enhancements. Supervise project work through planning, scheduling, review, and approval of tasks, as well as site visits.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $158,100/yr.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor, progressive, related work experience.
Must have five (5) years of experience with/in:
Overseeing structural design teams and coordinating with other engineering disciplines teams to produce project plans that comply with technical requirements on large civil infrastructure projects, specifically with structures valued at least $100 million;
Managing design for proposals, contracts, or change orders for Design-Build or P3 projects with costs exceeding $300 million overall and $100 million in structures;
Design of Buildings/Bridges/Retaining Walls structures under federal and applicable state coding regulations with at least two of the following design software applications: ETABS, SAFE, and/or CYPE;
Negotiating technical requirements and criteria with key stakeholders leading to project contract execution; and
Designing plans, baseline schedules, permit approvals, and contractual requirements for structures.
Must have experience and working knowledge in bridge design (heavy civil) under AASHTO regulations with at least two of the following design software applications: OpenBridge Designer Connect, SAP2000, and/or SoFiSTiK.
Up to 5% domestic travel.
Must have or be eligible to obtain a state Professional Engineer license.
