Aircraft Electrician jobs in Buffalo, NY
Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. What You Will Be Doing
- Oversee electrical installation projects
- Ensure that projects are in compliance with national, state, and local code
- Install and repair electrical materials, equipment, and machinery working from blueprints, drawings, lay-outs, or other specifications
- Inspect and repair defects in lighting, electrical wiring and equipment using motorized machinery, hand tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Inspect completed electrical work for quality, safety, and proper operation
What You Need for this Position
- 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience
- Strong knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)
- Able to perform electrical calculations as needed
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, lay-outs
- Electrical repair experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting
