Aircraft Electrician jobs in New Brunswick, NJ

Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.       - Install and replace 277 volt switches, fuses, light fixtures and current breakers
      - Remove and install motors up to 480 volts
      - Read and record meter readings
      - Maintain and service (PM) all emergency generators
      - Maintain and repair all site lighting.

    Physical work requirements and work conditions

    • Lifting up to 80 lbs.
    • Working from heights.
    • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
    • Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
    • Driving for long periods of time.
    • Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
    • Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.
