Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. LOCATION - Travelling position: We do not require you to live in a specific location for this position, as it is a traveling position, but you will be expected to report to one of our current job sites across the US. Tepa is a federal prevailing wage contractor. Pay rates will be determined by project and location.
ABOUT THE JOB
In this position, you will install, connect, test, and sustain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications. In addition, you will figure layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
