EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires 5 or more years of diversified experience in plant, equipment and machine maintenance, CMMS operations, including setting up of preventive/predictive maintenance programs, repairing and rebuilding machines, installing all types of plant and production equipment and machines, performing and/or supervising electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, sheet metal and other work, training and supervising all categories of maintenance personnel and some experience with contractors and vendors on various aspects of construction, installation and the procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
Requires analytical effort, initiative, ingenuity and judgment in planning and directing machine and equipment repairs, installation and maintenance of plant utilities, equipment and production machines. Has latitude and responsibility to handle any emergency maintenance problems. Assistance is available from Manager and others on the more complex problems.
Requires knowledge of all phases of plant and equipment maintenance involving production machines and equipment; electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, blower, exhaust, plumbing and power supply systems; compressors, air conditioning and heating systems. Must have knowledge of building trades including carpentry, masonry and general construction and ability in using electrical and mechanical principles, charts, tables, drawings, mathematics and various preventive maintenance techniques. Knowledge of basic principles of supervision and leadership, planning and scheduling of work assignments, handling of personnel problems, is essential. Prefer a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Minimum requirements are High school education plus two year Technical degree or military equivalent.

Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager lead and manage all categories of maintenance involving machines, equipment, plant and office facilities and grounds. Improve the effectiveness of the department's Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs. Maximize the use and benefits from the existing CMMS. Create a learning environment that provides the opportunity for maintenance personnel to improve their skills to better maintain the plant's equipment and processes. Focus the Maintenance group on improving equipment uptime and machine reliability in order to meet the plant goals and objectives.
