Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Implements procedures to guide the routine inspection of aircraft components to facilitate optimal and reliable functionality. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. A successful candidate is motivated to run a general aviation shop with a mixed-experience maintenance team with the ability to grow the department.  It is key for the manager to have excellent communication skills to work with customers and motivate staff to ensure efficiency and profitability. 

                                                                   

    Madison is one of 3 FBOs managed by Wisconsin Aviation in southeast Wisconsin, located on the east ramp of the Dane County Regional Airport. We are proud to offer a well maintained, safe and economical aircraft maintenance facility to our technicians and customers. Our customer base includes, but is not limited to, our own internal fleet that ranges from Citabria through Citations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


    Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic license and IA required

    Working experience in Aviation Management or related field

    Minimum five (5) years working in general aviation

    Minimum three (3) years proven management experience which includes direct supervision

    Ability to work unrestricted in the United States as a citizen or permanent resident

    Absence of history of violations of Federal Aviation Administration regulations
