Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.   • Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD is seeking a a reliable, skilled maintenance person to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs, cleaning and groundskeeping to ensure that our church and facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform minor fixes and repairs within and around the church and facilities
    • Maintain church/rectory/school/cemetery grounds, including trimming, edging, mowing & fertilizing lawn, remove fallen branches, weeding, etc.
    • Snow removal around church grounds, school and cemetery
    • Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, trash removal, etc.
    • Maintain and order supplies for church and facilities
    • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and HVAC filters
    • Strip and wax floors
    • Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
    • Ensure parish hall is set for funerals, weddings and celebrations

    Essential Qualifications:

    1) Primary:

    • Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position
    • Willingness and ability to act as a personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church
    • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required
    • Knowledge of operating a skid steer required
    • Knowledge of towing a trailer required
    • Knowledge of lawn care and snow removal

    2) Education:  High school diploma or equivalent

    3) Experience:

    • Maintenance and Janitorial Experience required
    • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
    • Basic hand and power tool knowledge
    • Operating mowers/weed eaters/snow blowers

    4) Other Elements: 

    • Valid Driver's license
    • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
    • Ability to work early morning hours as need to remove snow

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • An understanding and working knowledge of all desktop applications included in the Microsoft Office Suite, Google platform and various web applications.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment to think strategically, multitask, and conform to shifting priorities, demands, and time lines.
    • Proven communication skills, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals while maintaining strict confidentiality.
