Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Engineering/Maintenance Fletcher

Requirement Overview

Reporting to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager – Fletcher, this position requires an experienced Maintenance Leader, to lead and be responsible for the daily supervision and co-ordination of a small maintenance team to achieve required plant availability, performance and quality.

Ensure that proactive and reactive maintenance tasks on the manufacturing site are completed to allow continuity of production operations. Responsible for the planned maintenance schedules on plant and equipment along with the maintenance of electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, whilst working in a health and safety conscious environment.

Role and Responsibilities

1) Lead and drive compliance to the company health safety environmental and quality policies and industry standards

2) Distribute daily tasks to Technicians in line with agreed priorities at the start up meeting.

3) As well as optimising the effectiveness of plant machinery, offer full support to maintenance colleagues and play an active role as a team leader within the Department.

4) To optimise the effectiveness of the machinery with regards: -

5) Quick fault finding and rectifying problems.

6) Preventative maintenance and servicing of machines and equipment.

7) Operation of plant and machines, knowledge of the function, composition and procedure of the production equipment.

8) Early detection of potential technical problems, monitoring and assuring the quality of parts, components and products.

9) Ensures that Safe Systems of work are always used.

10) Contractor management

11) Ensure the Maintenance team maintain all sites in a safe and clean order.

12) Maintaining cleanliness, tidiness and discipline to Company standards

13) The ordering of parts and shop floor ancillaries.

14) To ensure that all orders are delivered on time and fitted within acceptable timescales.

15) To organise manning and other resources within defined area.

16) Actively participate in the development of apprentices / trainees.

17) Ensure commitment to overtime working and flexibility to ensure workloads are complete before leaving shift.

The incumbent will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following.

1) A high standard of proficiency in handling engineering, staff and processes.

2) Have a recognised qualification within in an Electrical/ Mechanical Maintenance discipline.

3) Experience within Electrical and Mechanical maintenance

4) Relevant Maintenance background with proven management experience

5) Working knowledge of health and safety regulations. (Working at height, LOTO, etc)

6) Previous experience working within a process, production or manufacturing environment.

7) Proven working knowledge in maintenance plan execution.

8) Analytical approach to problem solving.

9) Identify spare part requirements and create critical spare inventory.

10) Experience of budget control

11) Flexibility and able to adapt around the needs of the business.

12) Self-motivation, drive, have a proactive attitude and be hands on.

13) To implement and operate planned a preventative maintenance scheme for the business.

14) To liaise with all outside contractors, and take responsibility for their work schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.

15) Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

16) IT literate, able to analyse data and produce detailed reports.

17) To communicate clearly with existing and potential external partners and to other staff at Emtelle, in respect to activities processes and methodologies employed in the department.

18) Highly self-motivated, disciplined and organised.

Knowledge

1) Project Management Qualification or extensive experience

2) Experience in managing engineering projects and tasks.

3) Extensive knowledge of equipment and suppliers, with a strong network within the industry

4) Management / Leadership skills

5) BS in Engineering, or experience equivalent to

Experience

1) Engineering Team Leading experience in a comparable Lean Manufacturing environment and disciplines: Desirable

2) Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing techniques.

3) Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.

4) Knowledge of Quality standards ISO9001, etc.

5) Strong PC skills, experience with planning and production tools such as ERP/MRP systems: Desirable
