Purpose of Position:
The Aircraft Quality Control Supervisor plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft Technical Inspectors daily in the performance of their duties. Provides technical advice and assists customers on operational, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repair of components and systems. Responsible for ensuring that assigned aircraft are maintained within required specifications and are airworthy before operation. Inspects repairs and modification of aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
This role is full time in Muscles Shoals Alabama Northwest Regional Airport supporting the installation of (CH-47/UH-60) Maintenance Work Order (MWO) programs.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential):
Qualifications:
· Active Security Clearance – Secret or higher
· High School Graduate or GED
· Documented training (by validation of qualifying factors to include documented prior military experience and training) on the MDS H60 series.
· Ten (10) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
· Minimum five (5) years’ experience as an aircraft inspector.
· Knowledge of military publications including electronic logbooks, manuals, drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics is mandatory.
· Valid driver’s license required.
Desirable:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· FAA A&P license. Must be current and documented.
· A valid (current) FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems or other technology applicable to fabrication, repair, operation, and maintenance requirements.
· Efficient in record keeping and preparation of reports; capable of reviewing other people's work and determining accuracy and conformity to standards.
· Proficient in the use of the Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation Enhanced (ULLS-AE), the current maintenance management system utilized to maintain Army aircraft forms and records.
· Thorough comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
· Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
· A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
· Ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
Physical Factors:
· Must climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
