Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises the maintenance operations of aircraft airframes and engines to ensure safe and reliable performance. Oversees routine servicing and preventative maintenance to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor evaluates technical requirements to determine the tradeoffs between the repair versus the replacement of components and the effect on cost and safety. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor informs and trains aircraft mechanics on current information from manufacturers and regulatory bodies. Coordinates and schedules inspections and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a manager. The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead, motivate, and develop a technical team of maintenance employees to perform equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Directs daily maintenance operations for manufacturing facility.
    • Directs the activities of employees to perform equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Directs or performs layout work for each project as needed.
    • Consults with Maintenance Manager and engineering as needed.
    • Checks to see that repairs are done correctly and in an efficient manner.

    Supports site-wide maintenance function, including packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance and stationary engineering.

    Works to improve the reliability of production lines & ensure machinery down times are reduced. Works to optimize maintenance and operating efficiencies through minimizing operating costs and implementing key performance indicators and measurements.

    Reports shift activity and issues that affect production to management team in timely fashion and immediacy when appropriate.

    Ensures regulatory compliance in health & safety, environmental standards and equipment operations.

    Builds the maintenance team's capability, supports the performance development of shift maintenance, mechanical and electrical systems.

    Supports the development of the maintenance department : Preventive and Predictive maintenance, MRO inventory control and Maintenance Planning.

    Focuses on the development of the Maintenance team to execute the technical systems associated with predictive & preventative maintenance, process control and OEE / downtime data collection and interpretation.

    Builds the Maintenance team's daily troubleshooting capability of the technical and process failures recognizing when, who and how to draw support.

    Must be hands on Supervisor, utilizing their own mechanical expertise and directing team members to keep operations running uninterrupted and efficiently.

    Manages, trains, and motivates employees. Directs and supervises employees' work activities and monitors work performance.

    Promotes a cooperative and harmonious environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.

    Communicates clear expectations and offers guidance and support to employees in order to meet expectations and grow job skills.

    Collaborates with Human Resources to screen, interview and hire qualified candidates. Administers disciplinary actions and recommends performance improvement actions in collaboration with the HR Manager.

    Technical Experience : Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical, safety and preventative maintenance programs.

    Preference for experience leading a maintenance team. Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction required.

    Must be able to read and write English. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

    Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee management, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

    Must be familiar with computers and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

    Industry Experience :

    • Four years related experience, preferably in food industry
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and skilled use of a variety of hand tools, precision hand tools, and measuring instruments required.

    Preferred competencies in welding, presses, grinders, basic fabrication, PLC logic

    • Able to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, schematics, service and operating manuals
    • Maintain accurate maintenance, production, quality, and operational records as required
    • Knowledge of LOTO, GMPs, PPEs, Confined Space, Hot Works, Hazardous / Regulated Waste, Electrical Safety, MSDS, OSHA and other environmental regulations and procedures
    • Monitor and enforce team, equipment and environmental safety.
    • Complete and submit accident reports and investigation notes, reporting all accidents and near misses to management, Safety and Human Resources Managers

    Physical Demands and Work Environment :

    • Able to perform various physical activities such as heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs occasionally
    • Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time
    • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
    • Work and communicate in an environment with moving mechanical parts and loud noise requiring hearing protection. Understand verbal and written instructions in English
    • Able to balance while ascending / descending ladders and scaffolding using safety procedures
    • Able to twist, bend, lay, kneel, reach, and crouch at elevated and ground levels
    • Vision abilities include : close, distant, and color vision
    • Able to adjust to changing demands and environments quickly
    • Able to work in damp refrigerated environment 38-42 degrees. Employee will be exposed to variable air temperatures, loud vibration, and office environments.

    Employee will be exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, high locations, vibration, chemicals

    • Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time
    • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
