Aircraft Mechanic Assistant maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Mechanic Assistant utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic Assistant recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Aircraft Mechanic Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Yulista Solutions LLC Regular PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance on aircrafts based at NASA Aircraft Operations in El Paso, Texas. This position will perform NDI Technician maintenance on aircrafts, including avionics and mechanical aircraft systems/sub-systems. Essential Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Repair, inspect and maintain structural, mechanical, and electrical elements of the aircraft. • Possess knowledge in the use of and be able to train others in the use of a wide variety of diagnostics devices, computers, hand and mechanical tools. • Provide oversight and may direct and train others in the completion of aircraft related maintenance tasks. • May include Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties. • The NDI Technician may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: • Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred. • Ability to enter data accurately into databases. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members. • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others. • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc. • Ability to follow a process. • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management. • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista Tactical Services, LLC goals. • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently. • Ability to multi-task. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airplane and/or Powerplant certification or special skills and/or certifications (NDI, Welding, Egress, Machining, etc.). • 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience with fixed wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft required. • Experience supporting a NASA/DoD contract. • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
