Aircraft Mechanic Assistant maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Mechanic Assistant utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic Assistant recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Aircraft Mechanic Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking military veterans with recent aircraft repair experience for an opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri.

     

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    Working Hero Aircraft Mechanics will maintain, inspect, repair, modify, overhaul and troubleshoot commercial aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements

    • Inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft.
    • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
    • Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks.

    Qualifications and requirements:

    • At least 3 years of recent hands on aviation experience in the United States Military.
    • No commercial experience, tools, or licenses needed. This opening allows you to apply your military aviation experience to the civilian sector.
    • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms.
    • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
    • A valid clear driver's license.
    • Must have the minimum tools as required.
    • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
    • Must be willing to work any shift.
    • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
    • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
