Aircraft Mechanic Assistant jobs in Rapid City, SD

The applicant responsibilities include the following:

• Ensure that the Project Safety Management Plan and all Thyssen Mining policies and procedures are strictly followed. Ensure compliance with any additional local plans or procedures such as environmental, cultural, or social programs and make safety a priority.
• Ensure all maintenance logs and reports are kept up to date and current for all equipment Thyssen Mining is responsible for at site.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in acceptable operating condition and that all work is performed to regulatory codes and Thyssen quality standards.
• Work together with the Safety and Training Department to ensure all subordinates have received all the necessary safety training required of their positions and specifically for the sight including site specific training.  Ensure training records are maintained for each subordinate.
• Maintain mechanical parts and supplies inventories at optimal levels (factoring in both cost and risk of downtime).
• Assist with the mobilization and demobilization of equipment to and from the project.
• Create and keep updated a maintenance schedule/plan as required for all equipment used in conjunction with this contract.
• Liaise with other departments as required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
• Duties outlined herein are intended to be the minimum duties expected. Discretion to expand upon these duties is expected to insure that the position mandate is met and that performance is such that the general spirit and intent of the duties outlined above are completed as required.
• It is expected that best efforts to advance the interests of Thyssen Mining is expressed and to that end, to perform duties to the highest skill levels and ability required by Thyssen Mining.
• Other duties as requested by the Project Manager and Thyssen Mining Management.
• Work rotation of 20 days on, 10 days off with 12 hour shifts.
