Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) keeps airplane in safe working condition by servicing engines, engine components, and airframe components. Modifies and replaces parts such as instruments, wiring, and tires. Being an Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) identifies hazardous aircraft conditions and determines when aircraft should not be flown. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) may require certification from FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician school. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Job Functions:
- Obtains documents from a variety of sources, including direct from customer, customer notification of portal activity and the internal sales department.
- Performs research to support the acquisition of documents, as necessary.
- Compares sales orders to the released revision of required documents to ensure coherence.
- Makes updates to database as necessary.
- Maintains the storage files of drawings.
- Performs revision review of released documents every 60 or 90 days, as applicable.
- Reads, interprets, and adheres to drawings, blueprints, commercial aviation wire diagrams, manufacturing specifications, work instructions, regulations, manuals, and quality procedures.
- Maintains a focus on customer satisfaction (internal and external).
- Understands how administrative tasks may overlap with and affect production.
- Communicates work project status to supervisor. Provides accurate and concise written communication, with appropriate detail.
- Adheres to all applicable environmental, safety and health, and operations procedures and directives.
- Ensures job site safety, promote safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards.
- Reads, understands, and interprets lockout/tag out indicators in the work area.
- Demonstrates clear and effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Skills Requirement:- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated abilities in problem-solving, critical thinking, and basic mathematics.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team to complete tasks.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment, as required.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:- Aptitude for working independently with minimal supervision, meeting or exceeding production targets without jeopardizing quality.
- Possess and demonstrate a thorough understanding and a working knowledge of all phases of the job.
Required Knowledge and Experience:- 0-2 Years (L1), 2-5 Years (L2), 5-8 Years (L3), 8 Years (L4) of experience in a related job role.
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including an internship in relevant trade.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:- High School Diploma/GED and technical/associate’s degree.
- Experience working in aerospace with trade terminology and basic nomenclature.
