Being an Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) identifies hazardous aircraft conditions and determines when aircraft should not be flown. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) may require certification from FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician school. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an Aircraft Mechanic (Jet) typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Position Summary InformationResponsibilitiesFAA A&P Mechanics will maintain, inspect, repair, modify, overhaul and troubleshoot university aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.
Qualifications- Current FAA A&P license is preferred.
- Must have the minimum tools as required.
- Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
SalaryCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
Minimum Qualifications- 1 year of A&P experience not required, but preferred.
- Must have the minimum tools as required.

Preferred Qualifications6 months of documented experience within the last 2 years preferred.
