    •    Troubleshoot and repair KC-130J aircraft, AE2100D3 engines, R391 propeller, auxiliary power unit, and fuel system discrepancies in accordance with naval aviation manuals
    •    Perform all required inspections on the AE2100D3 engine, R391 propeller, auxiliary power unit, and KC-130J aircraft fuel system as required by naval aviation manuals
    •    Document all maintenance performed utilizing the Optimized Organization Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system
    •    Screen component records for proper implementation of technical directives as required
    •    Inspect the performance of maintenance and component replacement on the AE2100D3 engine, fuel systems, R391 propellers, and all system related components
    •    Provide in depth training to the mechanics within the squadron on the AE2100D3 engine, R391 propeller, auxiliary power unit, and KC-130J aircraft fuel system
    •    Obtain and maintain all required support equipment licenses to perform assigned maintenance tasks
    •    Performs as a skilled Power Line Mechanic at VMGR-252 aboard MCAS Cherry Point with a diverse and knowledgeable background maintaining KC-130 aircraft system components for the Customer; perform scheduled and unscheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting repair and servicing or related structures of the KC-130 aircraft
    •    Inspects, maintains, repairs and services aircraft components including, but not limited to engines, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation
    •    Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals / specifications
    •    Perform other qualified duties as required and to assist other work centers as required which could include troubleshooting, repairing, servicing, and maintaining airframe, hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, and landing gear systems
    •    Perform inspections and duties as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)

    Job Requirements

    •    Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance
    •    Possess a valid state driver’s license to obtain and maintain base access
    •    KC-130J Avionics Technician (MOS 6316) and associated "C" school training, or equivalent civilian qualifications or certificates (A&P license)
    •    Shall have the ability to perform complex O-level maintenance actions
    •    Possess a level of experience necessary to inspect and sign off work as a Collateral Duty Inspector in all assigned aircraft systems
    •    Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent
    •    If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions
    •    Possess a good knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate and interact effectively with others
    •    Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
    •    Perform other duties as assigned

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending and reaching. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to twenty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. While performing the duties of this job, the employees are regularly required to sit, use their hands and fingers to type, and talk or hear.

    Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
