Aircraft Painter applies pre-mixed and blended paint or coating to interior and exterior of assembled aircraft or parts. Prepares surfaces for painting and protects painted surfaces from erosion. Being an Aircraft Painter requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Aircraft Painter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Painters perform tanker trailer and truck body painting functions. This would include properly preparing surfaces for paint application as well as utilizing finishing material (rust protector, under coatings, etc). Needs to be able to identify materials, properly handle those materials. Demonstrates the ability to use air and electric power tools related to the painting function.
