Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Airframe and Engine Mechanic, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. A mechanic operates pneumatic tools, performs blending operations, masking operations for plasma / grit blast, disassembles components, assembles components, and is responsible for overall work assignments under the supervision of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Perform disassemble / clean / deburr duties of various engine modules components. Disassemble modules without distorting original configuration or tolerances. Use precision measuring equipment to determine areas of re-work. Perform duties in accordance with Engine Manual, Quality Procedures, Travelers, Blueprints, Sketches, sample parts and specialized fixtures. Responsible for overall work assignments under the supervision of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader. Induct module components. Box and crate module components as required to sell. Restore various engine module components to air worthiness standards. Operate manual and/or automated blast cabinets. Operate steam clean booth and use manual cleaning tools. Prepare components for plasma spray operations by masking and/or grit blasting. Check tools and equipment for safety and ensure equipment is properly stored and certified. May be required to perform other duties as company workload dictates. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Certificate from trade school (preferred) Hands on experience with gas turbine engines (preferred) Computer skills using Microsoft Word (preferred)    PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally: Sit, lift, and/or move up to 30 pounds. Regularly:  Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Push or pull using material handling equipment up to 500 pounds.
