The primary responsibility of the Small Engine Mechanic is to build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements, inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. ..., conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability, troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner, perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems, and support of the rental clerk to create and provide rental agreements of equipment along with sales of new power products and parts. The most important objective is for the Small Engine Mechanic is to build and maintain customer relations.
The Small Engine Mechanic(when trained) is expected to:
• Have basic knowledge of 2 & 4 stroke engines
Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with customers.
• Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs.
• Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
• Adjust components according to specifications.
• Positively represent Brentwood Ace Hardware through excellent Customer Service
• Answer incoming rental phone calls
• Become proficient in Rental Operations
18 years or older
High School diploma/GED
Ability to effectively use email
