Airport Engineer plans, designs and lays out airports and landing fields. Oversees the construction work involved in leveling fields, laying out and surfacing runways. Being an Airport Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Airport Engineer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     We are in search of an Engineering Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the interior and exterior of the building, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems, as well as swimming pool. As the Engineering Supervisor, you will be in charge of monitoring the budget and controlling expenses in all areas of the department.

    Additional Responsibilities include:

    • Manage the daily activities of the department.
    • Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
    • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.
    • Create a Preventative Maintenance Program and ensure it is followed.
    • Establish and maintain procedures to (1) ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., (2) replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and (3) to minimize waste.
    • Work with corporate managers, engineers, and/or outside architects regarding the completion of construction and other future projects; contact contractors for bids and meet with appropriate construction supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects within budget and establish future maintenance commitments.
    • May be responsible for determining the security requirements necessary to ensure that hotel property, employees, and guests are protected against theft, crime, and other hazards, and/or manage the relationship with a third-party security firm contracted for such purposes.
    • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
    • Participate in Risk Management Programs.
    • Respond courteously to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
    • Communicate with hotel department heads to become aware of maintenance needs and ensure timely response to internal requests.

    Requirements:

    • A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Management preferred.
    • 2-5 years of experience as an Engineer and/or Assistant Chief Engineer in hospitality.
    • Ability to obtain/maintain any required licenses, certificates, or permits.
    • Experience with hotel maintenance.
    • Plumbing, electrical, drywall, and preventative maintenance are a plus.
    • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays.
