    The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Engagement and Alumni Partner Development to work with the Office of Alumni Affairs. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships with the corporate community and building key relationships to support the priorities of the UAB National Alumni Society (NAS). This position is responsible for planning and executing events and programs that engage the alumni base and encourage involvement and investment in both UAB and the NAS. This position will report to the Director of Engagement in the Office of Alumni Affairs and will be an integral member of the Office of Advancement, lastly, this position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.

    Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

    • Advance the Corporate Sponsorship program by expanding the pipeline of qualified local businesses
    • Organizes events to facilitate the growth of the NAS scholarship program
    • Fosters relationships with campus offices, schools/divisions
    • Manage and cultivate relationships with board members and other volunteers

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

    • Advanced stakeholder management
    • Demonstrated writing skills
    • Political Acumen/Social Awareness
    • Excellent knowledge of financial operations including budget planning and administration
    • Knowledge of programming and execution
    • Advanced project management skills
    • Knowledge of event planning and execution
    • Commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively across units
    • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate a complex work environment

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
    • Three (3) years of experience including alumni, sales, fundraising, and related areas
    • Driving record should meet University guidelines
    • Carrying/moving/lifting objects between 20 and 50 pounds
    • Ability to stand for a period of time
