  • Missouri Valley College seeks a dynamic and energetic professional to join our advancement team as the director of alumni relations.

    Position Overview:

    • Responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students.
    • Create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the College; working with the development office to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving; and serving as a liaison between the College and Alumni Association Board.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the Advancement team and Alumni Association Board by arranging meetings, staffing its committees and ensuring strong and productive relationships.
    • Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the Institute’s strategic plan as well as the goals of the Office of Advancement, including but not limited to homecoming and alumni and friend socials.
    • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, etc.
    • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email, alumni web pages, and print publications
    • Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs
    • Collaborate closely with development office to increase support from alumni; routinely identify and qualify alumni prospects for gifts
    • Oversee and balance the budget for alumni relations; within the annual program budget

    Skills:

    • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a similar constituent database preferred
    • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience in event planning
